How could I resist a movie with an AC/DC song in the trailer?!

OMG this was crazy as BAAAAALLLLLSSSS! I loved it! Always great to see Wyatt Russell in anything (oh and hey there's Joseph Quinn, too).

Combines the general horrors of war with the specific horrors of reanimated super-soldiers in an underground experimental laboratory. Some sketchy CGI in a couple parts, but doesn't detract from otherwise solid digital and practical effects on-point throughout.

This one is a significant time and attention investment, at 2-1/2 hours of reading subtitles, but absolutely worth it. Lived up to the hype in a massive way, and the ending was like KAPOW!

The best of George A. Romero's Living Dead series! The combination of Romero and Tom Savini makes for a top-class horror flick, truly. The social horror in this one is unapologetically full-frontal and very discomforting.

This movie is absolutely BANANAS!  🐑 BAA. NAA. NUHS. 🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌

I first saw this movie via store rental, probably shortly after it was released on "home video", then for the longest time it seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth, that I thought I imagined it. It's real, tho! Oh boy, is it real.

I would NOT recommend this to anyone who's not already a horror movie fan (this is not an "introduction to horror" film), but for any horror afficianado who hasen't seen this yet, you should absolutely put it on your list.

At time of this post, you can watch it "Free with Commercials" on Amazon Prime, but I just paid the 3 bucks to rent it because the ads are really intrusive.

Love Lupita Nyong'o ❤️ but this movie didn't quite live up to expectations. Some laughs, and watching Josh Gad cussing and being generally awful was entertaining in itself, but probably won't watch it again.

Quarantine (2008)

This movie is UNDER👏RATED👏

It's an English remake of a Spanish-language film (REC) that was released just 1 year earlier, and so Quarantine was kind of swept aside in the "found footage" craze of turn-of-the-century horror.

In the beginning, the acting can seem a bit stiff, but these are supposed to be "real people" so it's actually part of the gambit.
About 20 minutes-in the action starts to get frenetic and never stops, escalating until there's really never NOT something intensely frightening happening.

I've seen quite a few of the found-footage genre horror flicks, and none of them quite measure up to this one in intensity --- it just has that extra something special.

Love this iconic zombie flick! Great makeup and practical effects, great freakouts from the cast, and of course the "intelligent"(cognizant?) zombies that can speak and continually lay traps for unsuspecting victims.😂

The Dead Don't Die (2019)

The reviews aren't great, but I enjoyed it --- but I can see how other people would not. Would I recommend it? Only to weirdos like me, I guess, lol.

It is slowww and dryyyyy; there is some social commentary re: corporate greed and consumerism that is not subtle and sticks out like a sore-thumb; and one of the character-groups' fate is never resolved to the audience.

Things I liked about it: The cast really saved it for me, Bill Murray and Adam Driver work well together, and Tilda Swinton being weird is always great; the plot is bizarre, but the cause of the zombie outbreak is creative; the running Sturgill Simpson gag (also, the theme song is good); the breaks in the 4th wall. My fave part was probably the WU-PS delivery.
