This movie is the epitome of "dumb but fun". 😂
There are actually some impressive-for-low-budget practical effects deaths, but the monster is definitely hokey in a hilarious way. The fifth-wheel friend's meta exasperation at their all being trapped in a horror film was enjoyable.

I knew the instant I saw "A Troma Team Release" pop up on the screen that this was going to be a trashterpiece, and it did not disappoint -- from the sheriff's salt-n-pepper perm, to the infomercial-grade acting, to the Nightbeast's snaggletoothed, sometimes-a-puppet face... and something like 3 minutes of softcore porn happens at one point?🤷️
Prepare yourself for the best of the worst!
Fight scenes! Shootouts! Gratuitous nudity! Exclamations!
You'll laugh/cackle! You'll eyeroll! You'll shout profanities at the screen!

This movie went in all kinds of directions -- like a 1950's educational short tacked onto a cold war propaganda reel, with a noir car chase thrown in, then finally into the under-ground spaceship and the fantastic vintage sci-fi I was looking forward to! ...which lasted about 15 minutes.

Went on a monster movie bender: Tremors, Jaws, Rodan... then realized I've never seen The Blob remake, even though I really like the Steve McQueen original (enough to own a DVD copy).
So totally worth watching! Fantastic remake! Really expanded the horror of the organism, and great practical effects.
