Leprechaun (1993)

🎃 Horrorthon 2023 #3 🔥 30th Anniversary

SO DUMB 😂 but srsly, how did Warwick Davis go from Willow to THIS?! He was a creepy-AF leprechaun, gotta at least give him that much.

There's Nothing Out There (1991)

This movie is the epitome of "dumb but fun". 😂

There are actually some impressive-for-low-budget practical effects deaths, but the monster is definitely hokey in a hilarious way. The fifth-wheel friend's meta exasperation at their all being trapped in a horror film was enjoyable.

Stage Fright (1987)

Expected a train wreck going into it, but this wasn't half bad as far as Italian slashers go. Never would have suspected.

Nightbeast (1982)

🎃 Horrorthon 2022 #22 🔥 40th Anniversary

I knew the instant I saw "A Troma Team Release" pop up on the screen that this was going to be a trashterpiece, and it did not disappoint -- from the sheriff's salt-n-pepper perm, to the infomercial-grade acting, to the Nightbeast's snaggletoothed, sometimes-a-puppet face... and something like 3 minutes of softcore porn happens at one point?🤷️

Prepare yourself for the best of the worst!
Fight scenes! Shootouts! Gratuitous nudity! Exclamations!
You'll laugh/cackle! You'll eyeroll! You'll shout profanities at the screen!

Invaders from Mars (1986)

What a wild, nonsensical ride. 🤣

Chopping Mall (1986)

Killer robots running amok in peak-era 80's mall! with no real explanation, just: a lightning storm happens. Who cares! Kooky ridiculousness ensues! Broken glass! Unnecessary crawling! LASERS!

Troll (1986)

Not too much horror, really, dollars-to-donuts... more fantasy adventure... but it's ridiculous and fun. I love all the greasy, drippy, grotesque little doofy muppet creatures.😆 Watch "Harry Potter Jr." (try to) save the day!

Black Sheep (2007)

🎃 Horrorthon 2021 #23

This movie is absolutely BANANAS!  🐑 BAA. NAA. NUHS. 🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌

I first saw this movie via store rental, probably shortly after it was released on "home video", then for the longest time it seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth, that I thought I imagined it. It's real, tho! Oh boy, is it real.

I would NOT recommend this to anyone who's not already a horror movie fan (this is not an "introduction to horror" film), but for any horror afficianado who hasen't seen this yet, you should absolutely put it on your list.

At time of this post, you can watch it "Free with Commercials" on Amazon Prime, but I just paid the 3 bucks to rent it because the ads are really intrusive.

Willy's Wonderland (2021)

🎃 Horrorthon 2021 #15

This was something else.🤣

Nicolas Cage as the silent protagonist who drinks super-charged soda and battles animatronic mascots possessed by the spirits of child-murdering cultists...

and that's just the summary

A bunch of other weirdness happens, there's dumb kids and rednecks, creepy warbling children's music, just SO MUCH.

The Return of the Living Dead (1985)

🎃 Horrorthon 2021 #9

Love this iconic zombie flick! Great makeup and practical effects, great freakouts from the cast, and of course the "intelligent"(cognizant?) zombies that can speak and continually lay traps for unsuspecting victims.😂

The Slumber Party Massacre (1982)

🎃 Horrorthon 2019 #1

If you're into horror movies that make you yell at the screen things like "wtf, seriously?!" and "no, don't do that! why are you doing the dumbest thing?!" then this is the movie for you.😆

Dreamcatcher (2003)

This is one of the more contentious Stephen King adaptations -- you either love it or hate it. I personally love it. The cast is great, the story is bizarre... Sure, it's got it's fair share cheesy moments, but overall it more than meets the "so bad it's good" standard.
